Project Circuit
Dec 2020 - Current
This small game is an independent project still in early development. It is a 2D action puzzle game that offers challenging modes where you must rotate or arrange wire chips accordingly to complete 'circuits' and achieve victory.
This game is being made with C# and the XNA framework MonoGame. I assumed every role in this project which includes lead programmer, 2D artist, game designer, and sound designer. I'm coding all of the gameplay, which includes the central mechanics, input manager, gamestate manager, game objects, and save system.
I was always fond of simple but engaging action-puzzlers like Tetris and Puyo Puyo. It wasn't until I got hooked on Panel de Pon and Meteos when I realized that I really enjoyed them and figured that making one would be a good way to start off my independent game dev career. The style I'm aiming for is NES 8-bit pixel graphics due to its blunt and readable nature, nostalgia partially to blame. My goal for this game is to reach a good level of engagement and competition while maintaining its clarity and simplicity.
